Following the Luxembourg edition, Catalonia will host the European Youth Music Festival from 29 May to 1 June 2025. With a capacity of up to 8000 participants, 50 participating cities and more than 100 stages, the festival will offer groups and orchestras from all music schools in the EMU the opportunity to perform.

Catalonia is a welcoming region with a vast network of music schools ready to host young European musicians in their cities. It is a land of sea, mountains, cities and villages full of history and millenary traditions. The organisers want schools from all over Europe to feel at home with the local schools, students and families, who have created a great network for music education. The festival will take place in 50 locations around the capital, Barcelona, within a maximum distance of 100 km or one hour’s drive.

The European Youth Music Festival is an initiative of the EMU. The main organiser of RITMIKS is the Catalan Association of Music Schools (ACEM), with the support of the Spanish Union of Music and Dance Schools (UEMyD).
