In the history of the arts, music, dance, theatre, fine arts, and now new disciplines such as the visual or digital arts, have been and often are intimately linked. In Europe, and particularly within the European Music School Union, there are both music and art schools, depending on the history and culture of each country or region. Without calling into question the identity and validity of these different models, which are rich in their diversity, this EMU webinar aims for the first time to highlight the value of cooperation between the arts, whether in the internal organisation of an art school or in the partnerships that a music school can establish with other disciplines and artists. Beyond that, the objective is to explore new ways of developing and strengthening music and arts education in Europe.
The webinar will feature keynotes, presentations and discussions in breakout groups and is open for members of European and national organisations in the field of music and arts education, directors and teachers of music and art schools, as well as EMU partners. The webinar is free of charge and will take place online on Friday, February 10 from 14.00 to 17.00 and on Saturday, February 11 from 9.30 to 12.00.
