49th Meeting of the EMU General Assembly

The 49th Meeting of the EMU General Assembly and European Music School Forum will be held from 30 May to 2 June 2024 in St. Pölten, Austria.

PROGRAMME
The General Assembly and Forum will take place at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten in Lower Austria. The GA will be held in English language with simultaneous translations into French and German.

 Delegates are invited to come to St. Pölten on May 30 to attend the opening programme and welcome dinner in the afternoon and evening. The GA will be held on Friday, 31 May in the morning from 9.30 to 13.00 (registration starts at 9.00). Friday afternoon the European music school forum will start with an opening, a keynote and a plenary discussion on societal relevance of music & art schools, followed by an “EMU-Café”, presenting projects and models in the member countries and opportunities for dialogue and exchange. In the evening, the Lower Austrian music & art schools will present themselves in a short concert followed by a reception. The forum will continue Saturday, 1 June, on the topic of “Qualities in music school education”. Saturday afternoon will be followed by a sightseeing programme including a Danube cruise and an evening “Heuriger-dinner”.

REGISTRATION
The deadline for registration is 31 March 2024 via this link.
There will be the possibility of a late registration until 15 April 2024, in that case please contact registration@mkmnoe.at.

Invoices will be sent to you by our Austrian member, the Conference of the Austrian Music School Association (KOMU) via MKM Music & Art School Management Lower Austria, after your registration.

ACCOMMODATION
The KOMU covers the accommodation and subsistence costs for the presidium members, the honorary members and for one delegate from each member country during the General Assembly and European Music School Forum for a maximum of 3 nights. We hope to see as many participants as possible from our member associations, but please note that extra participants will have to cover their own accommodation and subsistence costs.

Cost per additional participant in single room, full board: €570 for three nights and full programme (further information and details in the registration form)

All delegates and participants will be accommodated at the Hotel Metropol, Schillerplatz 1, 3100 St. Pölten.

ELECTIONS
The 49th General Assembly of the EMU will again see elections to the board of the EMU. As stipulated in our statutes, all members can nominate candidates for all positions: as president, vice-president and as regular board members. The mandate from the board will be three years, from 2024 to 2027.

In order to nominate candidates, please hand in a nomination letter by the EMU member together with a CV and letter of motivation by the candidate itself. The deadline to hand in nominations is April 30, 2024. All nominations have to be sent to: till.skoruppa@musicschoolunion.eu
