‘European Leadership Training'

EMU organised in 2008 in Livorno, Italy the first seminar for music school directors in Europe.
The seminar ‘Music Makes Europe’ was focussed to international EU-funded projects.
The seminar ‘European Leadership Training’ which will take place from 21 - 24 October 2010 in Sindelfingen, Germany, will focus to questions of managing, communicating about and promoting the value of music for society. The themes are based on the results of a questionnaire sent to all EMU member associations.
‘European Leadership Training’ might be a starting point for a series of subsequent seminars under the title ‘EMU-TRAIN’.
Requirements:
- An interest in developing leadership skills at a European level.
- Open to new ideas on leading a music school
- Some years of experience (young colleagues are very welcome!)
- Position of a director of a public music school (or combined institute)
- Willingness to complete homework beforehand (compulsory!)
EMU will organise the meeting in close cooperation with the town of Sindelfingen and Prof. Christian Gerloff, professor of communication. He spent many years training managers of Mercedes-Benz. At present he is a trainer for the German Music School Association (VdM). He will also lead the seminar.
The seminar will start with a keynote speech on 'The value of music in the society' by Paul Kaisermann, director of Artforms Education, Leeds (GB).

REGISTRATION
The national associations should perform the registration as well as the payment for the Seminar.
The deadline for registration has been extended until 1 September.
Applications will be accepted in the order that they are received.
Max 40 participants from min. 7 countries.
