Utrecht is a town with both Roman and Mediaeval remains. The office lies in the old centre of the town, on its eastside, a 15 minutes walk from Utrecht Central Station. There it enjoys the hospitality of the Dutch national association Kunstconnectie, that coordinates a wide range of institutes devoting themselves to art education, including many music schools.

The EMU-office functions as the focal point of the EMU-organisation and as such it coordinates all activities going on within EMU, apart from the Youth Music Festivals that are directly administered by the member associations. The office also edits EMU’s website and preserves EMU’s annual archives.
